DOMESTIC VIOLENCE, INTIMATE PARTNER VIOLENCE & STALKING INVESTIGATIONS.
Having personally navigated the complexities of intimate partner violence, I offer a unique perspective that prioritizes survivor safety and emotional well-being above all else.
I provide confidential, trauma-informed investigative services designed to help survivors regain their power. By documenting abuse, identifying hidden threats, and securing critical evidence, I help strengthen your case for protection orders like the Family Abuse Prevention Act (FAPA). The goal is to provide the court with your account of your lived experience through the evidence collected. It’s important to remember that it’s not about the quantity of witnesses, but rather the evidence that brings the stronger case.
To do that, you will need to provide admissible evidence.
What’s Admissible?
In Oregon, admissible evidence includes victim and witness testimony, digital records, audio and video recordings, physical and forensic evidence, character evidence, medical and criminal records, and victim impact statements.
What Can Motley Investigations Do?
We can help you safely gather the admissible evidence you need to meet the burden of proof required to show you are in danger of further abuse by providing professional documentation of harassment, threats, and physical abuse to meet the standard required for Oregon FAPA or Stalking Protective Orders.
How Will Motley Investigations Safely Gather Admissible Evidence?
We will document stalking & harassment through discreet surveillance and digital forensics to monitor physical stalking and online harassment to identify and document patterns of behavior and "unwanted contact" as defined under Oregon law.
We will locate and interview witnesses such as neighbors, coworkers and previous partners to establish a history of conduct.
Through background checks and asset searches, we will verify witness credibility, gather background information about the abuser, identify hidden assets, and search for unregistered firearms.
As we gather evidence, we will create a detailed timeline of events to prove patterns of behavior, showing "motive" or "causation" in court. This includes retrieving digital exchanges like emails, social media messages, and voicemails.
We will provide expert witness testimony and present our findings and forensic evidence (e.g. photos of property damage, digital logs, video surveillance) in a format that meets strict legal standards.
How Much Will This Cost?
Our standard rates and fees are listed on our Retainer & Fees page. However, we offer discounted rates for our specialized IPV, DV & stalking services and will work closely with you to determine a budget-conscious plan that aligns with your goals. In addition to discounting our rates, we can offer interest-free payment plans tailored to your budget.
Your Safety and Privacy Are Our Main Priority
Before we begin our investigation, we will work with you to determine the scope of confidentiality and establish the specific details of what constitutes confidential information in a written agreement.
After we complete our investigation, we will provide investigative insights into your abuser’s history and current patterns to assess risk and help you and your legal team develop a robust, evidence-based safety plan.
Our inquiries are protected under our Privacy Policy and adhere to Oregon's strict confidentiality guidelines under Oregon Administrative Rule (OAR) 259-061-0195, as such, we cannot intentionally reveal or release information about you to a third party without your explicit consent or a clear legal reason.
